TLDR
War Link - 2111 AD (also known as WarLink VR) is a VR only shooter set in a war torn future. It ships with two core modes: a Battle Royale where players drop in by parachute and fight to be the last one standing, and Battle with Robots, a wave based mode against increasingly tough robotic enemies.
Nipsapp Game Studios built the game together with Saturn VR, and both studios are credited as developer and publisher on Steam. Players pick from a roster of characters with distinct roles, choose from rifles, launchers, energy weapons and melee weapons, and fight across futuristic cityscapes and wastelands rendered with HDR.
The game launched on Steam on 14 February 2024, runs on all major PC VR headsets through OpenVR, and carries a Mostly Positive user rating.

Two Ways to Fight
Battle Royale
Parachute into the map, scavenge weapons and gear, and survive as the play area keeps shrinking. Every match is a mix of positioning, looting decisions and close range firefights, all played with your own hands and body in VR.
Battle with Robots
Hold out against waves of advanced robotic enemies, each wave stronger than the last. A focused combat mode for players who want pure action and a steady difficulty climb without waiting in a lobby.
Built for VR Combat
Parachute Drops
Every Battle Royale match opens in the air. Players steer their descent to pick a landing zone, reach high ground, or drop on top of an enemy squad. In a headset, the jump itself becomes one of the most memorable moments of each round.
Character Roster
A range of characters with their own abilities and personalities lets players lean into a style: a stealthy assassin, a heavy tank that soaks damage, or a support character who keeps the fight going.
Futuristic Arsenal
High powered rifles, explosive launchers, energy weapons and melee weapons. Players build a loadout that fits their plan for the match and handle every weapon with tracked controllers.
Hand Tracked Gunplay
Aiming, firing and switching weapons all run through tracked controller input. There is no mouse and no auto aim to lean on, so accuracy comes down to the player's own movement and reflexes.
Futuristic Battlefields
Urban cityscapes and desolate wastelands from a world ravaged by war in 2111. HDR rendering gives the maps strong contrast and readable sightlines, which matters when you are scanning for enemies at a distance.
Live Updates
The game is supported with regular updates that add characters, weapons, maps and modes, so the experience keeps moving after launch rather than staying frozen at version one.

Challenges and Solutions
Large maps in VR
Battle royale needs big, open maps with long sightlines. In VR, every frame is rendered twice, once per eye, which makes large outdoor scenes expensive.
Budgeted rendering
Level of detail, batching and occlusion keep distant geometry cheap, while HDR lighting does the heavy lifting for atmosphere instead of costly per frame effects.
A parachute drop without nausea
Falling from the sky is exciting on a flat screen, but in a headset fast vertical motion can make players sick in seconds.
Comfort tuned descent
The drop uses controlled speed and a steady horizon so the player feels the height and the thrill without losing comfort before the match even starts.
Many weapons, one pair of hands
Rifles, launchers, energy weapons and melee weapons each need to feel different, yet all of them run on the same two tracked controllers.
Per weapon handling
Each weapon class gets its own grip, aim and feedback profile, so a heavy launcher reads differently in the hand than a quick energy pistol or a blade.
Two modes, one codebase
Battle Royale and wave based robot combat have very different pacing, AI needs and win conditions.
Shared core, separate rules
Characters, weapons and movement are shared systems, while each mode adds its own rule set on top. New content lands in both modes without double work.
