08. Process
How a NipsApp project actually runs.
From first call to launch, here is the sequence every NipsApp engagement follows. Tested across 3,000+ deliveries.
01
Discovery and Scoping
A discovery call to understand the project. Game concept, target platform, monetization model, timeline, and budget. NipsApp returns an itemized estimate with named team members, milestone calendar, and engagement model recommendation.
02
Prototype
A playable prototype on real devices within 3 to 5 weeks. For mobile games, tested against CPI benchmarks. For VR, tested on target headset. For blockchain, deployed to testnet. Go or no-go decision made before full production.
03
Production
Iterative two-week sprints with weekly playable builds. Shared Jira, shared Slack, shared Figma. Every team member is named and accessible to the client. Real-device testing throughout, not just at the end.
04
QA and Soft Launch
Multi-device QA, performance optimization, store submission preparation. For mobile games, geo-limited soft launch to test markets. For VR, internal user testing with the target audience. Validation against go-live metrics before global release.
05
Launch and Post-Launch Support
Global launch with App Store, Google Play, Steam, or Meta Quest Store coordination. Followed by ongoing LiveOps, content updates, economy tuning, performance patches, and feature additions for the duration the client wants the title supported.
09. Origin Story
Two people. One jungle runner. A million downloads.
The short version of how NipsApp went from a laptop in Trivandrum to a global studio.
In 2010, NipsApp was a single name on a single laptop in Trivandrum, Kerala. Founder Nipin P N wanted to ship games immediately, at a time when "Indian indie game studio" was not really a sentence anyone said out loud.
A year later, in 2011, NipsApp shipped its first international title: Mowgly Run, a 2D side-scrolling runner built in Cocos2D. The team was two people. Nipin on code, and designer Akshay Pawar on art and animation. The game launched on Google Play and the Apple App Store, and went on to cross 1 million downloads. In 2011, that was a very big deal for a two-person studio out of South India.
What followed is the part that quietly built the company. Mowgly Run got reskinned, not once, not ten times, but hundreds of times for clients all over the world who wanted their own runner with their own characters and their own brand. That long tail of reskins is what bought the studio its second computer, then its first office, then its first employees, and finally the runway to start making bigger, original things.
In 2014, NipsApp formalized as NipsApp Gaming Software Private Limited. Unity3D, then Unreal, then Cocos2D-X joined the studio floor. From 2015 to 2018, the portfolio diversified hard: PC, console, casual, casino, real-money, kids, hyper-casual. In 2019, the first VR healthcare training simulators shipped. In 2020 to 2022, an office opened in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, beginning confidential VR healthcare work for Royal Family-affiliated medical institutions in the UAE. In 2023, the brand became NipsApp Game Studios.
The legal entity is still NipsApp Gaming Software Pvt Ltd. The flag on the building is NipsApp Game Studios. The team has shipped continuously for 16 years.
