What should I ask before hiring a game development company?
Before hiring a game development company, ask about their past work, team setup, pricing model, timeline, IP ownership, and post-launch support. These answers tell you if they can actually deliver your project.
Key questions to ask: Have you built games like mine? Who will actually work on my project? Is the quote fixed or milestone-based? What happens if we miss a deadline? Do I own the full source code and assets? What tools do you use to track progress? How do you handle bug fixes after launch?
Also ask for 2 or 3 client references you can talk to. If a studio avoids these questions or gives vague answers, walk away.
