How do I compare pricing between different game development companies?
To compare pricing fairly, send the same project brief to every studio and ask each for a detailed breakdown. Compare cost per stage, hours per role, deliverables, and payment terms — not just the final number.
A cheap quote can mean fewer features, junior developers, or cut corners in testing. A high quote can mean senior team, better process, or overpriced work. Look at what each price actually includes: hours for design, art, code, testing, project management, and post-launch support. Ask if source code and assets are included in the final deliverable.
Also check payment terms. Milestone-based payments are safer than big upfront deposits. Fixed quotes work for clear scope; hourly rates fit unclear scope.
